Active Youth:

Incorporates fundamental movement patterns including running, jumping, catching, kicking, hopping, skipping, leaping, throwing and balance. These skills are taught in a fun way, through games, circuits, drills, dance, mini challenges and more. This program aims to improve confidence, fitness, strength, co-ordination and self-esteem.

Carers and parents are welcome to join in.

Group Fitness: 

Active Kids: Children’s fitness class that focuses on developing fundamental motor skills in a fun filled environment. This class will get all children moving and making friends, includes ball skills, running, jumping, body weight exercises and more. We aim to make exercise fun and create healthy habits that help set up an active life. (Primary school - ages 6+)
Day: Monday
Time: 4.40pm

Active Abilities Kids: We believe everyone should have the opportunity to exercise and move! This class welcomes children with cognitive disabilities and gives everyone a safe space to enjoy movement. Focus is on fitness, strength, building confidence, making friends and having fun. Create healthy habits whilst gaining basic ball and movement skills. (All ages 6+)
Day: Wednesday
Time: 4.40pm

Teen Fit: A class specifically for teens designed with cardio and bodyweight exercises which increases fitness, strength and endurance. Create healthy habits that set up a lifelong love of exercise and movement. Our qualified trainers will deliver a safe and fun program that is also a great introduction to the gym. (Secondary school - ages 12+)
Day: Thursday
Time: 4.40pm

What do I wear to class?

Comfortable clothes: t-shirt, shorts, tracksuit pants or anything you can move easily in. Closed toe footwear (like runners) are required for all classes for safety and hygiene reasons.

What do I bring?

Bring a water bottle and a towel for your sessions (either classes or in the gym) to help you stay hydrated and hygienic.

Do I need to stay with my child?

If your child is under 10 years of age you are required to remain in the class. If your child is 10+ you are welcome drop them off . If you are a paid carer for a participant with a disability who requires 1:1 support you are required to stay in the class.

Where do you run your classes?

All Active Youth classes are at Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre and teens can access the gym and classes at all three Active Monash facilities.
